Friday Five: Hope
I thought maybe it was time for another Friday five list of little reminders about hope.
1. First is a link to a video about a 106-year-old Holocaust survivor who also happens to be an amazing piano player. The video is a little long, but so worth watching. My favorite part is when she talks about how others complain about their lives or their aches and pains and she says "It's not so terrible!" with a smile on her face: link to video (Sorry I don't know how to embed the video here - the little 'embed video' button isn't working.)
2. I posted this one on my Facebook page yesterday. It came from Maya Angelou's Facebook status. I recommend that you go 'like' her page. She is so wise: "I know that you may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. If you accept that you have been defeated, you give power to the force that is trying to defeat you."
3. Carrie Ten Bloom: "Worry does not empty tomorrow of sorrow - it empties today of strength." link (There are lots more good quotes at this link.)
4. Ruth Gordon: "Never give up. And never, under any circumstances, face the facts." link
5. Louis Pasteur: "Let me tell you the secret that has led me to my goal: my strength lies solely in my tenacity. link
So whatever challenges you may be facing, keep the faith, know that you can get there, even if it takes a little longer than you may have anticipated. And no matter what you do, just promise me that if it matters to you, if it really matters, you'll never ever give up <3

I loved this Friday Five, Cheryl. Worry has no place in our lives because it does nothing to move us ahead. As for hope, that's what it's all about. Now I have to remember what I've just written: stop worrying about stuff and hope today is wonderful--it will be.

Thanks, Lee. And you are so right. It's hard to remember day in and day out, but when we do, it serves us well. Good luck!
